Location Information
The 2019 International WDA will be held at the Granlibakken Lake Tahoe Conference Center in Tahoe City, CA. Situated in the High Sierra and on the north shore of Lake Tahoe, it has a natural beauty that will act as a wonderful intro to our theme – “Fostering Resiliency in a Time of Change” – where climate change and political challenges will be discussed as they relate to wildlife health and management concerns.
The resort has a variety of indoor and outdoor areas that will accommodate both the conference itself as well as the WDA’s brand of social events – barbeque – student mixers, the auction, and the banquet. Regional opportunities (aside from the conference center) include world-class hiking, watersports, the Treetop Adventure Park, swimming, biking, and tennis. For those interested in nightlife, South Lake Tahoe and Reno are 25 and 50 miles away, respectively. Alternatively, day spa services and yoga are available on-site.
Our conference at the Granlibakken Resort will be an all-inclusive program (e.g., lodging, 3 full meals/day, meeting room costs, A/V equipment, AM/PM coffee breaks, free parking, free wi-fi, free use of recreational facilities, and complimentary cocktail receptions included in the lodging fee). This means ALL attendees will be able to attend ALL activities without having to worry about banquet tickets, drink tickets, or other issues! Once you register for the Conference, your receipt will include a website address and booking code for lodging registration – do NOT register for the meeting separately!
